Fatemeh Sepehri's Protest Against Khamenei's Agents Preventing Her Discharge from Hospital: They Want to Kill Me

In a video message from the hospital, Fatemeh Sepehri announced her influenza diagnosis and stated that while she wishes to leave the hospital voluntarily, hospital officials claim, "The authorities of the Islamic Republic have ordered us not to let you go." Fatemeh Sepehri, a political activist opposed to the Islamic Republic, was transferred from Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad to the hospital for recovery after surgery. In the message published on her brother Asghar Sepehri's 'X' account on Tuesday, she said, "Today is October 17. The day I was brought to the hospital, they tested me for COVID-19 and influenza, and today they said you have influenza, and COVID is negative." She emphasized, "This morning I said let me go home voluntarily. They said to have your son come and sign for you to leave. From 10:20 AM until now, which is after 7 PM, all the hospital staff say that the authorities of the Islamic Republic have ordered us not to let you go." Fatemeh Sepehri added, "I am getting up now and leaving. If they do not let me, I will make a scene. They want to kill me. They have intentions against my life." She also stated, "Every patient has the right to give consent and leave the hospital. My son and I gave our consent, but now they have come and said Khamenei's agents have said I cannot leave. What is the goal and what is the plan? Only God knows." On Tuesday, in her first video message after her arrest, she condemned the attack by Hamas, a militia supported by the Islamic Republic, on Israel, stating that "the Iranian nation stands with the Israeli nation." Fatemeh Sepehri was arrested shortly after the killing of Mahsa Amini and the onset of nationwide protests in Iran and has been in prison for over a year. Her two brothers, Hossein and Mohammad Hossein Sepehri, were also arrested amid Fatemeh Sepehri's worsening heart problems in prison and in protest against her not being sent to the hospital.
