FBI Offers $3 Million Reward for Arrest of Iranian Citizen

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced that it is offering a reward of up to $3 million for information leading to the arrest of Hossein Ahmad Larijani, an Iranian citizen accused of purchasing components related to improvised explosive devices. According to a statement from the FBI's Minneapolis office in Minnesota, this Iranian citizen is accused of illegally buying electronic components from this state, which were later used in improvised explosive devices deployed against American and coalition forces in Iraq between 2008 and 2010. A court in Washington officially charged Hossein Ahmad Larijani in 2010 with the illegal purchase and export of electronic components from a company in Minnesota. The FBI stated that this Iranian citizen managed to purchase 6,000 electronic components with the help of a company in Iran and three companies in Singapore. The report also mentioned that he had four accomplices in Singapore, three of whom were arrested and returned to Singapore after serving their sentences in the U.S. The fourth accomplice remains in Singapore and has not been arrested. This Iranian citizen is accused of placing orders for electronic components with a Minnesota company under the guise of the Singaporean company 'Corezing,' deceiving them with claims that the components would be used in the same state. Some media outlets have reported that the Iranian company involved in this scheme was 'Paya Electric.' According to the FBI, Hossein Ahmad Larijani, who is 55 years old and is believed to currently reside in Tehran, may travel to China, Singapore, Hong Kong, or Turkey.
