Final Blow to Galaxy Note 7

Samsung intends to deliver the final blow to the remaining Galaxy Note 7 phones in the market by issuing a software update that will permanently disable these devices. Currently, 10 percent of Galaxy Note 7 phones have not been returned to Samsung, and the company aims to remove these remaining devices from the market. With the new update, no carrier will allow users to operate these phones. The update is scheduled for December 19. As of now, over 93 percent of individuals who purchased the Galaxy Note 7 in the United States have returned their devices to Samsung. 35 reports of Galaxy Note 7 explosions forced the South Korean company to announce a replacement program after confirming battery issues with the Galaxy Note 7 phones. Although Samsung claims not all batteries in this series are defective, it has not clarified how many of the approximately 2.5 million Note 7 units sold worldwide may catch fire or explode due to battery problems. Samsung, which has halted production of this model, has offered customers the option to exchange their Note 7 for one of Samsung's latest products, such as the Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge, along with a $95 gift. The Galaxy Note 7 phablet, a combination of phone and tablet, attracted many customers with its underwater functionality even with a stylus. This 5.7-inch model with 64 GB of internal memory and a 12-megapixel camera was an appealing option for fans of large phones in the Note series. To fill the gap left by the Galaxy Note 7, the company will soon launch the Galaxy S8. The introduction date for the next generation of Samsung phones, the Galaxy S8, has been announced for February 26 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Apparently, two different models of this series will be produced, one with a 5.1-inch display and the other with a 5.5-inch display. Additionally, the Galaxy S8 smartphone will feature a dual rear camera, one with 16 megapixels and the other with 8 megapixels. It is said that the processors in this model will have significantly more power compared to current models and will also be more energy-efficient. Some reports also indicate that this phone will be waterproof. In this new model, the physical button will be removed, replaced by a virtual button beneath the display. One of the processors used in the Galaxy S8 will be the Snapdragon 835. This company will use a 2K resolution display in the Galaxy S8. Samsung is expected to use 6 GB of RAM in this model and increase the internal storage of the new phone to 256 GB. The company aims to collect all Galaxy Note 7 products from the market before the launch of its new product, the Galaxy S8, to prevent any remaining Note 7 fires from jeopardizing the media space necessary for the unveiling of the Galaxy S8.
