Yasmin Maqbali, the Iranian-American astronaut and commander of the 'Crew 7' space mission at the International Space Station, wrote on social media platform X: 'Despite all the expectations and dreams I had throughout my life, I was worried that I would be disappointed after arriving here, but this experience exceeded all my expectations.' Yasmin Maqbali, who has been at the International Space Station since September 5 as the commander of the 'Crew 7' mission, continued: 'I can't believe this adventure is coming to an end. I have dreamed of being at the space station since childhood. Now that I am in the final moments of my stay at the International Space Station, I feel overwhelmed with wonder and gratitude. It feels like all my childhood dreams have come true.' The rocket carrying the astronauts of the 'Crew 7' mission successfully launched to the International Space Station on the morning of Saturday, August 25. Yasmin Maqbali, the Iranian-American astronaut, commands this mission, accompanied by astronauts from Denmark, Japan, and Russia. Yasmin is from Baldwin, New York, and holds a master's degree in aerospace engineering. She also graduated with honors from the U.S. Navy's test pilot school in Maryland, and during her speech at this year's Nowruz ceremony at the White House, she said: 'I am proud of my Iranian heritage.' Shahbanou Farah Pahlavi, in a message, stated that Yasmin Maqbali's selection as the commander of the mission to the space station is a source of pride for all Iranians and congratulated her and her family on this success.
