Five Academic Organizations Condemn Attack on Israel: 'The Regime's Childish Adventures' Divert Attention from Internal Crisis

Five academic organizations issued an 'official statement' titled 'Academic Activists and Youth of Iran' condemning the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' missile attack on Israel. According to this statement published on Monday, April 16, on the Amir Kabir newsletter's Instagram account, it states: 'The Revolutionary Guard and the Islamic Republic have always been the cause of unrest in the Middle East and the world.' The statement emphasizes that 'regional tensions' are exploited by 'the regime's childish adventures to divert attention from its major internal crisis.' The signing organizations added: 'We, the freedom-seeking academics and youth of Iran, condemn this wicked act of the Islamic Republic regime and call on the free world to support us in our struggle against this terrorist regime.' They stressed that 'the people of Iran have no desire for arson in the region and have called on all peace-loving countries' to 'use every diplomatic and peaceful means to sanction the terrorist Revolutionary Guards and prevent them from further harming the people of Iran and the entire region.' The statement, emphasizing the 'right to self-determination' for the people of Iran, stated: 'Support for our struggle to create a democratic and secure space will pave the way for achieving a secular democratic Iran. This can change the political landscape of the region and end decades of instability and violence.' The drone and missile attack by the Islamic Republic on Saturday night faced widespread condemnation from leaders and officials of Western, regional, and Latin American countries. Joe Biden, the President of the United States, emphasized the 'ironclad' commitment of the United States to Israel's security in response to the Islamic Republic's attacks on Israel. Additionally, an Israeli report stated that the country's war cabinet decided to respond 'clearly and forcefully' to the missile and drone attack by the Iranian government on Saturday night. According to this report, Israel's response will carry the message that the country will not allow such a large attack to 'go unanswered' and another goal is to prevent the Islamic Republic from establishing its desired 'equation' in recent days.
