Formation of 'Two New Cases' Against Imprisoned Protest Singer; German Guardian: The Fight for Tomaj's Freedom Continues

Following reports from Tomaj Salehi's affiliated social media page about the formation of 'two new cases with fabricated charges' against this imprisoned singer, his political guardian in Germany emphasized the 'Iranian regime's' fear of the freedom of this protester and announced the continuation of the fight for his release. Tomaj Salehi's social media page reported on Thursday, July 21, that 'intelligence agents in collaboration with judicial authorities' are opening 'two new cases with fabricated charges' against this imprisoned protest singer in Dastgerd prison in Isfahan. Part of the news referred to the 'unjust' and 'legally unfounded' arrests of Tomaj Salehi on November 8, 2022, and December 3, 2023, stating that the reason for the new 'baseless charges' is to create 'justification for his detention.' Yi Wan Ri, Tomaj Salehi's political guardian, considered the new charges against this government-critical singer as a sign of the 'Iranian regime's fear' of Tomaj and the Iranian people, emphasizing: 'We will continue to draw attention to this issue and fight for Tomaj's freedom.' In his continued note on the social media platform 'X', Tomaj Salehi's political guardian criticized the ineffectiveness of the identity of the Islamic Republic's president on the actions of the 'regime and Khamenei,' writing: 'There is no sign of the establishment of the rule of law that medicalian, as a reformist, promised.' Amnesty International recommended to the Iranian authorities in July of this year to release this imprisoned rapper 'immediately and unconditionally' instead of prolonging the legal process against him. Tomaj Salehi was arrested during the nationwide protests of 'Women, Life, Freedom' on November 8, 2022, and sent to prison. He was released on bail a year later but was arrested again just a few days later on December 3, 2023. The first branch of the Islamic Revolutionary Court in Isfahan tried this protest singer on April 30 of this year on charges of 'conspiracy and collusion, and aiding in rebellion' and sentenced him to death. This sentence was later overturned by the Supreme Court.
