Four Individuals, Including Three Family Members, Sentenced to a Total of 11 Years in Prison

Four individuals arrested during the nationwide protests of 'Women, Life, Freedom', including three family members, have been sentenced to a total of 11 years in prison. According to the Hengaw Human Rights Organization, Nasrollah Fallahi and his two children, Arghavan and Ardevan, along with their family friend Parvin Mirasan, have been charged with 'collusion and conspiracy against national security' and 'propaganda against the regime'. No details have been released regarding the specifics of these charges. Hengaw reported that Branch 26 of the Islamic Revolutionary Court of Tehran, presided over by Judge Iman Afshari, recently sentenced Parvin Mirasan and Nasrollah Fallahi each to 4 years in prison, Arghavan Fallahi to 2 years, and Ardevan Fallahi to 1 year. According to this report, Ardevan Fallahi, 25, was arrested on November 3, 2022, in Isfahan, while his father and sister, Nasrollah and Arghavan, along with Parvin Mirasan, were arrested the following day in Shiraz. Previously, the 'Atlas of Political Prisoners in Iran' reported that Nasrollah Fallahi, 66, and Arghavan, 23, were arrested on November 13, 2022, while traveling from Isfahan to Shiraz to visit Parvin Mirasan. Ardevan Fallahi was released on bail after 14 months, and his sister Arghavan after 16 months of 'temporary detention' in the second half of last year, and they will not be subject to new sentences considering their time in detention. According to the Iran Human Rights Center, Parvin Mirasan, 67, who is currently in Evin Prison, suffers from diabetes and Parkinson's disease. Narges Mohammadi, a Nobel Peace Prize laureate and imprisoned human rights activist, reported in January 2023 that Parvin Mirasan and Arghavan Fallahi are among 19 political prisoners held in Evin who have spent over a year in 'temporary detention'. Previously, HRANA, the news agency of human rights activists, reported that Nasrollah Fallahi suffers from multiple health issues, including gastrointestinal problems, joint pain, and cataracts, and has not received medical attention in Evin Prison. According to international statistics, Iran has become one of the 'most imprisoned' countries in the world over the past 44 years, with the number of prisoners estimated to be three times the capacity of the Islamic Republic's prisons.
