Fourth Court Session for Nima Momeni's Charges; Defense Attorney Withdraws

The fourth court session regarding the charges against Nima Momeni, a suspect in the murder of Bob Lee, the owner of the Cash App program, was held on Tuesday, May 30, in San Francisco, where Mr. Momeni's attorney withdrew from the case. According to Voice of America, the next court session regarding the murder case of Bob Lee will be held on June 13 at the San Francisco courthouse. Bob Lee, 43, was stabbed around 2:30 AM on April 4 and died from his injuries in the hospital. Bob Lee was a well-known figure in the American tech community, collaborating with Google and Square. The Cash App, valued at $40 billion according to Forbes, allows users to transfer money through a mobile app as an alternative to traditional banking services. The San Francisco police announced on Thursday, April 13, the arrest of Nima Momeni, a 38-year-old founder of the software company Expand IT, on suspicion of murder in Emeryville, California. According to the New York Times, a week after the murder, information from Bob Lee's phone indicated that Khazar Momeni expressed concern about her brother Nima Momeni's confrontation with Bob Lee in a message. The prosecutor in the case stated, 'One of the likely reasons for Bob Lee's murder was his relationship with the sister of the suspect, who is of Iranian descent, and Momeni and Bob Lee were together in a vehicle shortly before the stabbing.' Previously, the San Francisco Chronicle reported that Nima Momeni immigrated to the United States with his family decades ago. Some local media reported that Nima and his sister Khazar faced domestic violence from their father during childhood, which led them to immigrate to the U.S. with their mother.
