Fox News: No Evidence of Recent Iranian Missile Test

Two American officials told Fox News that the images Iran showed of a missile test were from the past, and there is no evidence that Iran has conducted a recent missile test. During the military parade in Iran on Friday, September 22, the Khorramshahr missile was unveiled as Iran's latest ballistic missile. Hours later, Iranian state television aired footage of a missile test, announcing that the long-range Khorramshahr missile was successfully tested. According to the news anchor on Iran's Channel One, this is Iran's third missile with a range of 2000 kilometers. However, informed sources told Fox News that what is clear is that Iran has not conducted a new missile test. Two American officials stated to Fox News that the video Iran showed of its new ballistic missile test was from a test conducted in January (nine months ago) and that the missile exploded in the air after launch. Fox News reported that on January 30, it had published a report on this unsuccessful test. According to this report, the medium-range Khorramshahr missile is a copy of the North Korean Musudan or BM-25 missile, which has a range of 2500 miles. The news of Iran's missile test prompted a reaction from Donald Trump, the President of the United States. On October 24, Trump tweeted that Iran recently tested a ballistic missile capable of reaching Israel. He added that they are also working with North Korea, and there is not much agreement between us. Before Trump referred to the missile's capability to reach Israeli territory, the defense minister of this key Washington ally described the Khorramshahr missile test as 'provocative.' The Israeli defense minister stated that this 'provocative' action by Iran indicates the country's ambition 'to become a global power to threaten other countries.'
