Fox News: US Congress Begins Investigation into Hossein Mousavian

The US House of Representatives has initiated an investigation into the role of Hossein Mousavian, a former diplomat of the Islamic Republic, at Princeton University. Fox News reported on Sunday, November 19, that the 'Committee on Education and Labor' is investigating Mousavian's activities, which are suspected of advancing the interests of the Islamic Republic of Iran. This investigation was triggered by Mousavian's speech at the annual US Strategic Command conference last September. According to the report, twelve Republican members of the committee sent a letter to the president of Princeton University, raising detailed questions and expressing concerns about the 'infiltration of the Islamic Republic' through Mousavian's activities at the prestigious New Jersey university. Lisa McClain, a Republican lawmaker from Michigan, who, along with Jim Banks, another Republican lawmaker from Indiana, initiated the letter to Princeton, told Fox News: 'Let me be clear, the Islamic Republic is not our friend. They are a major enemy, a state sponsor of terrorism, and a destabilizing force in the Middle East that sympathizes with Hamas. We cannot allow a radical Iranian to deceive American youth, and it is time to take action on this matter.' Virginia Foxx, a Republican lawmaker from North Carolina and chair of the House Education Committee, also stated: 'Individuals aligned with evil regimes continue to infiltrate the higher education system in America.' She added: 'Hossein Mousavian's sheltering at Princeton University for 15 years is a prominent example of this situation. These individuals pose a serious threat to US national security and have been left unchecked without any intervention or rigorous oversight. It is time to shed light on the blatant corruption and infiltration that has become severely normalized.' Previously, following Mousavian's speech at the annual US Strategic Command conference, the chairs of the Armed Services Committees of the House and Senate demanded an explanation from the Strategic Command regarding this matter. The non-governmental organization 'United Against a Nuclear Iran' raised alarms after Mousavian, a Middle East security and nuclear policy expert, attended the funeral of Qassem Soleimani and made comments on the Islamic Republic's state television. This organization emphasized that Mousavian is an agent of the Islamic Republic and insisted that Princeton University should be investigated for providing this position to Mousavian for propaganda purposes. However, Mousavian recently emphasized in an interview with Fox News that the broadcast was merely 'a 10-second clip from a two-hour interview' and that 'Iranian television only aired 7 to 10 seconds of it regarding Brian Hook's family.
