French Teacher 'Lied' About Attack on Himself

The Paris prosecutor's office rejected the claim of a man who said he was attacked by a masked man affiliated with ISIS, stating that the story of the attack was fabricated. Early on Monday, a kindergarten teacher in Aubervilliers, north of Paris, claimed to have been the target of an attack by an ISIS-affiliated assailant, but after being interrogated by the Paris prosecutor's office and local prosecutors on Monday afternoon, he confessed that his story was false. French media reported on Monday, December 23, quoting the man as saying that 'a person with a box cutter in hand' struck him 'in the back and neck' during the attack. He also claimed that he was attacked while he was present in the classroom earlier than the students for the first lesson, and it was alleged that the assailant shouted that this act was a 'warning' and done in the name of the 'Islamic State.' On Monday morning, hospital sources in France reported that the condition of this kindergarten teacher was 'serious' but not life-threatening. However, it is now clear that the story this French teacher told about the attack on himself was not true, and he is still under interrogation regarding why he fabricated such a lie. Although there has not yet been a definitive statement about the nature of this incident and the reason for this man's injuries, there is speculation that his actions may have been a form of self-harm.
