The new Pixelbook made by Google is set to hit the market this fall with a 4K display. Meanwhile, Samsung plans to launch the S10 with a triple camera to perhaps diversify its products. The new Pixelbook will be released this fall with a 4K display and 8GB of RAM, featuring an Intel Kaby Lake processor. The Pixelbook is essentially an advanced Chromebook with a 12.3-inch display and additional capabilities. This product is the thinnest laptop that Google has ever made. This convertible laptop, like the Yoga series, can fold and transform into a tablet. The current version of this product was introduced last fall, and now Google is trying to unveil a new version this fall.
Android 9, the ninth generation of the Android operating system, will gradually be used in some phones. Pixel phones are the first devices to have access to this operating system. Huawei will release this product for its flagships in the fall. HTC will also offer this product for its flagships in early next year. LG will make this operating system available for its flagship products in the last quarter of this year. Motorola will use this operating system on its main products in the first quarter of 2019. Nokia will release this operating system for its models 8 and 7 in the last quarter of 2018 and for models 5, 3, 2, and 1 in 2019. OnePlus will introduce this operating system for models 6 and 5 in the last quarter of this year and for model 3 in the first quarter of next year. However, Samsung will be the last manufacturer to release this product next year for some of its products. Models S7 and earlier will not receive this operating system. S9 will receive it in the first quarter, Note 8 and S8 in the second and third quarters of next year. Sony will also release this operating system for its main products this year.
From 5G Modem to S10's Triple Camera
Exynos 5100 is Samsung's first 5G modem. Samsung has stated that it intends to use this product in some of its products in 2019. However, this product will not be included in the S10 model. Instead, Samsung plans to use a triple camera for the S10, similar to what Huawei recently did with its flagship. The S10 will be released with three cameras: 12MP, 16MP, and 13MP, allowing users to achieve up to three times optical zoom. With the release of Note 9, many Samsung fans were disappointed that the new Samsung product had little to offer. However, these individuals now hope that Samsung will change the game with the S10.
Sony has been challenging Canon and Nikon with the release of its new full-frame mirrorless cameras and has now achieved the highest sales in the U.S. in the full-frame mirrorless camera segment. Meanwhile, Nikon and Canon also plan to introduce full-frame mirrorless models.
Mirrorless cameras are much lighter than DSLR cameras. However, some photographers still prefer optical viewfinders over digital ones. Sony has four products in this market segment: the full-frame Alpha A9 suitable for sports photography, Alpha a7R III for industrial or wildlife work, Alpha a7S II suitable for filmmaking, and Alpha A7 III which is cheaper than the other models.
Nvidia is entering the market with the fastest graphics card by introducing the new family of Quadro RTX graphics processors. However, the prices of these graphics cards are very high, ranging from two thousand to ten thousand dollars depending on technical specifications.
