Further Details on the Meeting of Iranian Foreign Ministers and Six Global Powers in New York

Iranian news agencies have reported that Abbas Araghchi, Deputy Foreign Minister, stated that the foreign ministers of Iran and the six global powers emphasized the removal of potential obstacles to the implementation of the Vienna nuclear agreement during a meeting held on Monday night in New York. According to Mr. Araghchi, the foreign ministers expressed satisfaction with the developments regarding the JCPOA over the past two months and during the legal processes in the 5+1 countries, expressing hope that "with the end of the legal review process of the JCPOA by the Iranian Parliament, the implementation process will begin." The Iranian Parliament has been reviewing the nuclear agreement document or JCPOA through a special commission in recent weeks, but while it was expected that the final report of this commission would be presented to the Parliament on Tuesday, the spokesperson for this commission stated that the report would likely be ready for presentation to the Parliament next Sunday. Apparently, divisions among the members of the JCPOA commission regarding the final report have prevented its completion, as last Tuesday Abbasali Mansouri mentioned the disagreement among commission members about the final report, stating that if consensus was not reached on the final report and the two existing viewpoints could not be included in one report, each team would submit its own report to the Parliament.
