G7 Leaders Condemn Iran's 'Unprecedented' Attacks Against Israel

In their joint statement, the G7 leaders warned that the actions of the Islamic Republic could lead to uncontrollable escalation of tensions. They called for an end to the Islamic Republic's attacks and those of its proxy groups while emphasizing their continued efforts to create stability and prevent further escalation. Charles Michel, President of the European Council, also stated on X that they condemned Iran's unprecedented attack against Israel. He mentioned that 'all parties must show restraint' and that they would continue their efforts to reduce tensions, adding that the situation in the Middle East, including Lebanon, would be discussed at the upcoming European Council meeting. The drone and missile attack by the Islamic Republic on Saturday night faced widespread condemnation from leaders and officials in Western, regional, and Latin American countries. In his first reaction to the Islamic Republic's attacks on Israel, U.S. President Joe Biden emphasized the 'ironclad' commitment of the United States to Israel's security. Volker Turk, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, also strongly condemned the extensive attacks by the Islamic Republic of Iran against Israel. John Kirby, the White House Coordinator for Strategic Communications, stated that Israel's 'incredible success' demonstrates its military superiority, and the support from Israel's regional and international friends confirms its diplomatic success. Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz stated that the Iranian government would pay the price for attacking Israel at the appropriate time and in the appropriate manner.
