Gallant Refers to the Killing of Three Israelis: The Iranian Government is Seeking to Expand Terrorism

Yoav Gallant, Israel's Defense Minister, reacted to the killing of three Israeli citizens in an attack on Sunday, stating that the Israeli army's actions in the West Bank will increase. Gallant wrote in a post on the social media platform X in Hebrew that the Iranian government is attempting to bring terrorism to the borders and territory of Israel. According to him, military actions will be intensified, and terrorism in the West Bank and Israel's eastern borders will be neutralized. The Defense Minister added that the army is prepared to neutralize all actions against the country, whether close or far. In this context, Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, also referred to the killing of three Israeli citizens at the West Bank border with Jordan, stating that his country is surrounded by the deadly ideology of the Iranian government's 'axis of evil.' The Prime Minister added that Israel's enemies, unable to achieve military defeat against the country, are trying to create division among the Israeli people. On Sunday morning, three Israeli citizens were killed due to gunfire at the 'Allenby' border crossing between the West Bank and Jordan. The shooter has been identified as a truck driver from Jordan. According to Israeli officials, the shooter exited the truck during an inspection by Israeli forces and opened fire on the employees of the border crossing. He was shot dead by Israeli soldiers. In recent weeks and months, Israeli officials have repeatedly warned about the intensification of activities by the Islamic Republic of Iran and Hamas in the West Bank, particularly their efforts to send weapons and money to Palestinian refugee camps. Netanyahu, in another part of his remarks on Sunday, emphasized his government's commitment to eliminating Hamas, returning hostages, permanently removing the threat from Gaza against Israel, and allowing residents of northern and southern Israel to return to their homes. Concurrently, Yoav Gallant, during a visit to the Netzarim corridor in central Gaza, promised that Israel would take down Yahya and Mohammed Sinwar. Gallant recalled Israel's deadly operations against Mohammed Deif and Marwan Issa, stating that the Sinwar brothers would eventually make a mistake and 'we will carry out our mission.' Yahya Sinwar is the leader of Hamas in Gaza and took over the leadership of Hamas after the killing of Ismail Haniyeh. Mohammed Sinwar, Yahya Sinwar's brother, is also a senior commander in Hamas's military wing. During Hamas's terrorist attack on October 7, more than 1,200 Israeli citizens, including women, children, and the elderly, were killed, and over 250 others were taken hostage. Following this terrorist attack, Israel launched an offensive against Gaza to destroy Hamas and recover hostages taken by Hamas. The Hamas group is listed as a terrorist organization by the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Israel, Canada, Japan, and several other countries.
