Gallant's Warning to the Iranian Government: You May Face the Fate of Gaza and Beirut

Yoav Gallant, Israel's Defense Minister, warned the Iranian government on Sunday that it may face the fate of Gaza and Beirut. Gallant, who was visiting the Nevatim Air Force Base on the eve of the first anniversary of the October 7 terrorist attack, stated that those who believe that attempts to harm Israel will prevent it from taking action should look at the situation in Gaza and Beirut. Regarding last week's missile attack by the Islamic Republic on Israel, he said that the attack did not even cause a scratch to the capabilities of the Israeli Air Force. The Israeli Defense Minister reiterated his country's position regarding the recent missile attack by the Iranian government, emphasizing that Israel will choose the method and timing of its response to this attack. In this context, Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, emphasized on Saturday evening in response to the recent missile attack by the Islamic Republic that Israel is 'obligated' to respond to this attack. He stated, 'Just as no country in the world would accept such an attack, Israel will never tolerate such an act.' Netanyahu reminded that the Islamic Republic has fired missiles at Israel twice so far, and the Israeli army intercepted hundreds of missiles during the largest ballistic missile attack in its history. He stated, 'We will respond to these attacks, and this will be a response that the Islamic Republic cannot ignore.' Meanwhile, Daniel Hagari, a spokesman for the Israeli army, had previously announced that the army would respond to these attacks 'at the appropriate time and in an appropriate manner,' adding that Israel would have no doubts in making this decision. On Tuesday evening, the Islamic Republic attacked Israel with 180 missiles 'in response to all of Israel's actions over the past year and the killing of senior commanders of the IRGC and the Islamic Republic's proxy forces in the region.' Israeli officials announced that 90 percent of these missiles were destroyed before hitting Israeli territory, and the remaining 10 percent caused no significant damage or casualties. Israel immediately emphasized that it would respond strongly to these attacks.
