Gantz: The Iranian Government Will Pay the Price for Attacking Israel at the Right Time

Benny Gantz, Israel's Minister of Defense, stated on Sunday, April 15, that the Iranian government will pay the price for attacking Israel at the appropriate time and in the appropriate manner. Gantz referred to the minimal damage caused by the attack of hundreds of missiles and drones, saying that the Iranian government has "realized the power of Israel's security system." He also announced that Israel must strengthen "strategic unity and regional cooperation" to allow it to overcome Iran's recent attack. He stated, "Iran is a global problem, a regional challenge, and a danger to Israel, and yesterday the world clearly stood with Israel against this threat. The result is: Israel against Iran, the world against Iran. This is a strategic achievement that we must use for the security of Israel." The Israeli Foreign Ministry also issued a statement declaring that the Islamic Republic must pay the cost of its aggression. According to the statement, the "initial cost" of the Iranian government's attacks on Israel should include adding the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to the list of terrorist organizations and sanctioning the Islamic Republic, especially its ballistic missile program. The statement emphasized Israel's right to defend itself against the Islamic Republic. Following the direct attacks by the Islamic Republic on Israel, lawmakers in the U.S. Congress from both the Democratic and Republican parties expressed their strong support for Israel and emphasized the need to hold the Iranian government accountable. These attacks were also met with strong condemnation from leaders and officials in Western, regional, and Latin American countries.
