George Bush Attends His Brother's Campaign Rally in South Carolina

Reports indicate that former U.S. President George Bush attended a campaign rally for his brother Jeb Bush in South Carolina on Monday, February 15, marking his first appearance in support of his brother's election campaign. Without mentioning Donald Trump, the leading Republican candidate, George Bush criticized him, stating, "I know that Americans are angry and frustrated, but we do not need someone in the White House who reflects our anger and frustration." According to the Associated Press, despite predictions that Donald Trump would fail to attract voters as the Republican primary elections began, he managed to win in New Hampshire and place second in Iowa. The report adds that Jeb Bush has struggled to gain voter support in the Iowa and New Hampshire primaries, and if he does not achieve significant results in the South Carolina primary on Saturday, he will face serious challenges in continuing his campaign. Nevertheless, the former president stated at the rally that voters should support a candidate who is capable on the global stage. George Bush added, "We need a candidate who can carry a positive message across the country." At the same rally, Jeb Bush, the former governor of Florida, claimed he could defeat Hillary Clinton, the former Secretary of State, in a general election. In the New Hampshire Republican primary last week, Donald Trump received 38% of the votes, followed by John Kasich, the governor of Ohio, with 16%, Ted Cruz with 12%, and Jeb Bush with 11%. Last week, Jeb Bush brought his mother Barbara to a campaign rally in New Hampshire. The Republican primary elections will be held on Saturday, February 20, in South Carolina, coinciding with the Democratic primary elections in Nevada.
