Mr. Michael's manager stated in a statement, "It is with deep sadness that we confirm that our beloved son, brother, and friend George Michael passed away peacefully at home during this Christmas time." The manager also requested respect for the family's privacy in the coming days, stating, "There is no further detail at this time." Mr. Michael resided in Goring, Oxfordshire, a town in southeast England. The BBC news network reported that an ambulance was sent to George Michael's residence on the afternoon of Sunday, December 25. Elton John expressed his shock at the news of George Michael's death, saying, "I have lost a very dear friend; the most generous, kindest, and an incredible artist." The police added that they do not know the cause of death but emphasized that there is currently no suspicious or foul play involved. AFP reported that a documentary about this British singer was scheduled to be aired in 2017. He had also announced the upcoming release of an album with Naughty Boys next year.
