German Police: Seven Injured in Axe Attack on Passengers at Train Station

German police have announced the arrest of a suspect in the axe attack on passengers at the Düsseldorf train station. Seven people were injured in this attack. According to the French news agency, the police say the suspect is a 36-year-old man from Yugoslavia and has 'mental health issues.' The Düsseldorf police stated that three individuals were severely injured and four others sustained minor injuries. Meanwhile, the German news agency reported that the suspect has not yet been interrogated due to injuries sustained from falling off a bridge. Earlier, a police official stated that the police conducted an investigation regarding the possible involvement of others in this attack, which yielded no results, and it is likely that one individual was responsible for the attack. The police spokesperson in Germany emphasized that they are not yet using the term 'terrorism' for this attack. He noted that there is no increased threat of further attacks, adding that the Düsseldorf train station will remain closed. This comes after a man injured five people in a knife and axe attack on train passengers in Würzburg, southern Germany, in July of this year. The assailant, a 17-year-old Afghan refugee, was shot dead by police.
