Germany: The Launch of the 'Noor 3' Satellite by the IRGC is a Threat to International Security

The German Foreign Ministry reacted on social media platform 'X' to the launch of the 'Noor 3' satellite by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), deeming it a threat to international security. The ministry stated: 'Iran has launched the Noor 3 satellite without regard for international restrictions. Iran's missile activities pose a threat to international security,' adding, 'We and our partners are committed to using all available diplomatic tools to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.' Iranian media reported on Wednesday, October 5, the launch and placement of the third satellite made by the IRGC into Earth's orbit. It is said that this satellite is positioned at an altitude of 450 kilometers above the Earth's surface. Following the launch of this satellite, Matthew Miller, spokesperson for the U.S. State Department, described the ballistic missile capabilities of the Islamic Republic as 'a serious threat to regional and international security.' Mr. Miller stated, 'We will continue to use various non-proliferation tools, including sanctions, to counter further advancements in Iran's ballistic missile program and its ability to proliferate missiles and related technologies to others.' Some Western experts say the IRGC's space program is a cover for developing intercontinental missiles. In mid-February 2022, six members of the U.S. House of Representatives wrote a letter to President Joe Biden urging him to consider the Islamic Republic's missile capabilities as a 'serious threat.'
