Goalkeeper of Persepolis and the Iranian National Team Arrested

Sosha Makani, the goalkeeper of Persepolis and the Iranian national team, was arrested after appearing at the Cultural and Media Prosecutor's Office to explain the publication of his private photos on social media. In recent days, photos of Sosha Makani were circulated on Telegram. In response to the release of these photos, he stated that he would file a complaint with the Cyber Police, as these images are private and one of the girls in the photos is his fiancée. Makani claimed that the theft of his phone led to the release of the photos. The Judiciary News Agency reported that a temporary arrest warrant for Sosha Makani was issued due to a private complaint, and the goalkeeper has contested this ruling. A day before Makani's arrest, the Mashregh website reported that he had been acquitted with the confirmation of the Football Federation's security. He appeared at the federation with his fiancée's father and presented documents proving that the person in the photo was indeed his fiancée and that no ethical violations occurred. However, following Makani's arrest, the head of the Football Federation's security stated that he never claimed Makani was acquitted and that any statements attributed to him were inaccurate. Hamisi, in an interview with the Judiciary's news agency, reminded that legally and religiously, Makani's case is being reviewed by judicial authorities, and decisions will be made after examining the case's aspects. Meanwhile, the spokesperson for Persepolis expressed shock at the news of Makani's arrest, stating that the incident is not interesting to them and that they need to consider necessary solutions. Hossein Abdi mentioned to the IRNA news agency that Makani's arrest will be discussed in the club's board meeting. Police Chief Sardar Eshtari, in response to a question from ISNA about Sosha Makani, said, 'This individual's case is under review in the Cyber Crimes Prosecutor's Office, and any decision made by the judicial authority will be acted upon according to the law and communicated.' Makani's arrest comes during the mid-season league break. A day earlier, Iman Sadeghi, another goalkeeper for Persepolis, transferred to the first division team Khoneh Be Khoneh in Babol, but now according to the assistant coach of Persepolis, this transfer may be canceled. In such circumstances, it is natural for Persepolis to seek to acquire a new goalkeeper. Alireza Beiranvand, another national team goalkeeper, was considered by the Reds, but the CEO of the Oil Club stated that they would not let Beiranvand go. Beiranvand was also supposed to join Persepolis during the management of Royanian, but at that time, Ghanbarzadeh, the CEO of Oil, accused the youth national team's coach of mediating in the transfers of young national players, and ultimately Beiranvand remained with Oil.
