Gohar Eshghi's Reaction to 'Suspicious Death' of Sara Tabrizi: Complicity with Oppression Only Leads to Continued Crimes

On Thursday, Gohar Eshghi reacted to the news of the 'suspicious death' of Sara Tabrizi, who was summoned to the Ministry of Intelligence, by writing on her Instagram page: 'Silence and complicity with oppression will yield nothing but the continuation of crime.' The mother of the slain activist Sattar Beheshti also wrote: 'Today, my children informed me that the Islamic Republic committed its first crime of this new year by killing my young and innocent daughter Sara Tabrizi. The executioners affiliated with the Ministry of Intelligence arrested my twenty-year-old daughter on April 4, and her lifeless body was found the next day at her home.' She, whose son Sattar Beheshti was killed in 2012 for 'blogging' while in custody of the Cyber Police, further emphasized: 'Let us honor the memory of Sara Tabrizi, this beautiful girl full of love and life wherever we are, and be the voice of her grieving family.' Gohar Eshghi concluded: 'I hope and pray that this filthy regime is overthrown by the people this new year, and that independent courts hold the executioners, instigators, and criminals of the Islamic Republic accountable. I extend my condolences to the grieving family of this lost child and share in their sorrow.' Several human rights activists reported on social media that the body of a young woman identified as 'Sara Tabrizi, 20 years old,' who had previously been detained by the Ministry of Intelligence, was found a day after being summoned to this agency again. It is said that she was 'arrested by the Ministry of Intelligence in November 2023' and released from Evin Prison two months later, but she was always threatened and harassed by the Ministry of Intelligence. Reza Akvaniyan, a human rights activist, on Thursday, April 9, shared a picture of 'Sara Tabrizi' on X, stating that this protester was summoned to the Ministry of Intelligence on April 4, but her body was found at home on April 5. According to this human rights activist, Sara Tabrizi was 'arrested by the Ministry of Intelligence in November 2023' and released from Evin Prison two months later. Based on the statements of this human rights activist, Sara Tabrizi was 'repeatedly threatened by agents' that 'if she did not cooperate, her private phone contents would be published.' Reza Akvaniyan referred to Sara Tabrizi's death as a 'government murder.'
