Golshifteh Farahani to Appear in New Pirates of the Caribbean Film

Golshifteh Farahani will star in the new installment of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" series titled "Dead Men Tell No Tales." Production of this film has recently begun in Australia. According to Hollywood Reporter, Johnny Depp will reprise his role as "Jack Sparrow" in this film, and Javier Bardem will also play a role in "Pirates of the Caribbean 5." Other cast members include Geoffrey Rush, Kaya Scodelario, Brenton Thwaites, and Stephen Graham, and the filming locations will be in Queensland, Australia. Espen Sandberg and Joachim Rønning are directing the fifth installment of this series. The "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise has grossed $3.7 billion worldwide and is considered one of the highest-grossing film series in cinema history. "Curse of the Black Pearl," "Dead Man's Chest," "At World's End," and "On Stranger Tides" are other entries in the series that were released between 2003 and 2011. It is still unclear what role Golshifteh Farahani will play in this new installment. Other activities of Golshifteh Farahani in the past year or two include a brief role in the French film "Heaven," acting in another French film titled "My Breath," and starring in the film "Golab" directed by Jon Stewart, based on the memoirs of Maziar Bahari alongside Gael García Bernal and Shohreh Aghdashloo. She also starred in a film titled "Altamira" alongside Antonio Banderas. This film is a co-production between France and Spain and is produced in English. "Altamira" is a historical drama directed by Hugh Hudson, who previously directed several films, including "Chariots of Fire," for which he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Director. In Hugh Hudson's new film, Golshifteh Farahani plays the role of "Conchita," the wife of Antonio Banderas; the film tells the true story of the discovery of prehistoric paintings in a cave by a 9-year-old girl named Maria and her father (Antonio Banderas), who is an amateur archaeologist. This cave, named "Altamira," changes the course of human history, and this significant discovery faces opposition from many, including some church officials. Besides her role in "Altamira," Golshifteh Farahani has another French film lined up to act in. She is set to appear in the film "Two Friends" directed by Louis Garrel. This film will be the first feature by Louis Garrel, who has previously acted in numerous films, including "The Dreamers" directed by Bernardo Bertolucci.
