Government Agents Arrest 'Three Family Members' in Boukan

On Wednesday, October 4, agents of the Islamic Republic's Ministry of Intelligence raided the village of 'Torghe' in Boukan and arrested three members of a family 'for unknown reasons.' According to the Hengaw Human Rights Organization, Sarveh Shiri and her brother Payman Shiri, along with their cousin Fardin Shiri, were detained. The report states that the arrest of these three Kurdish citizens was made without a judicial order, and they have been transferred to one of the detention centers of this government agency in Urmia. In the past two months, coinciding with the anniversary of the nationwide protests of 2021, which began following the death of Mahsa Amini in the custody of the morality police, a new wave of arrests of activists and citizens, especially in Kurdish regions, has been initiated by the intelligence and judicial forces of the Islamic Republic. The Hengaw Human Rights Organization reported that during the 'Women, Life, Freedom' protests, a total of 142 Kurdish citizens were killed, including 6 women and 136 men, and among the deceased were 16 children under 18 years old. The Kurdistan Human Rights Association-Geneva announced in a report this June that the arrest, torture, killing, and execution of Kurdish citizens in Iran continues. The Revolutionary Court of Isfahan has once again tried 15 Baha'i women, a Baha'i couple residing in Gorgan has been arrested, and the execution of a 'child offender' in Shiraz and two prisoners in Lahijan has been reported.
