Governor of Sistan and Baluchestan: Confessions of the Killers of Danaiifar; Body Discovered in Pakistan

The governor of Sistan and Baluchestan announced the arrest of the killers of Jamshid Danaiifar, an Iranian border guard, stating that his body was found in Pakistan following the confessions of these individuals regarding the location of his murder. According to Iranian media, the body of Jamshid Danaiifar, who was kidnapped on February 6, 2014, along with four other border guards by the Jaish al-Adl group, was transferred to 'inside Iran' and then buried on the first day of the new year. The Jaish al-Adl group had announced on April 3, 2014, that they executed Mr. Danaiifar in retaliation for the execution of a Sunni prisoner. According to Tasnim news agency, Ali Osat Hashemi, the governor of Sistan and Baluchestan, on Wednesday, April 25, referred to the arrest of what he called 'all terrorist elements from 2007 to 2014' in this province, adding that these individuals have also 'confessed' to the murder of Mr. Danaiifar. He added: 'The perpetrators of the martyrdom of Shahid Danaiifar disclosed the location of his martyrdom in their confessions, and the body of this martyr was discovered in Pakistan, which was brought into the country through the Mirjaveh border.' According to Mr. Hashemi, all those arrested in this case are members of the Jaish al-Adl group. The governor of Sistan and Baluchestan announced that the arrests took place in Esfand 2015. Meanwhile, he had previously reported on the evening of February 10, 2015, that 'the elements responsible for the insecurities of the past eight years in this province have been arrested through the efforts of the police and other agencies.' Mr. Hashemi stated that the accused have 'confessed' to several terrorist explosions in Zahedan, Chabahar, various assassinations across the province, bombings, roadside explosives, and other insecurities since 2007. Mahmoud Alavi, Iran's Minister of Intelligence, also reported on Saturday, February 14, 2015, the 'destruction of several bases' of a 'terrorist' group in the city of Saravan.
