Ground Units Advance in Gaza City; Israeli Army: Hamas's Defensive Line in the North Has Been Broken

On Thursday, November 2, the Israeli army announced that its ground forces are continuing to advance in Gaza City. According to Arash Sigarchi, a correspondent for Voice of America in Israel, the army claims to have attacked the city from three directions, located in the northern part of the Gaza Strip. The Israeli army spokesperson stated that Hamas's defensive line in northern Gaza has been completely broken. Additionally, the Israeli army reported that since Hamas's attacks on Israel on October 7, it has conducted over 12,000 strikes against Hamas in Gaza and eliminated more than 1,200 'terrorist targets.' Meanwhile, Hamas, which is supported by the Islamic Republic, stated that Israel bombed the 'Tal al-Hawa' area in Gaza. The western part of Gaza was also bombed by the Israeli Air Force on Thursday morning. According to Hamas, over 8,500 people have been killed as a result of Israeli military attacks, most of whom are civilians. In contrast, Israel accuses Hamas of using civilians as human shields. Israel, which is designated as a terrorist organization by the U.S. and some countries, claims that Hamas has a vast network of tunnels beneath Gaza, including under some hospitals, where weapons, food, and other supplies are believed to be stored. The Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip began after Hamas's attacks on Israel on October 7, which resulted in the deaths of over 1,200 people in Israel, most of whom were civilians. Hamas claims that 195 people were killed in Israeli attacks on the Jabalia refugee camp. Egypt is assisting in the evacuation of 7,000 dual nationals from Gaza. Israel reacted to Jordan's decision to recall its ambassador, focusing on the war imposed by Hamas. The Israeli army stated that Hamas forces are misusing fuel sent for Gaza's hospitals. Antony Blinken emphasized the importance of defending Israel and assisting civilians in Gaza.
