Halloween Night and NASA's 'Scary' Sounds from Space

Coinciding with Halloween, NASA released 'scary' sounds recorded in space. According to Newsweek magazine, NASA stated: 'Spacecraft can capture extraordinary images as they move through the depths of space. Some of these spacecraft are equipped with tools that can record radio messages in space. When scientists convert these sounds into regular sound waves, hearing them sends chills down the spine.' These sounds were recorded from the movement of a comet, planets, and plasma waves. The first segment relates to NASA spacecraft moving within the magnetic field of Jupiter. A whistling sound suddenly transforms into a deep, explosive noise upon the spacecraft's entry into Jupiter's magnetic field due to the impact of a solar storm. Another part of these sounds pertains to the reflection of radio waves in Earth's atmosphere, sounds resulting from the movement of radio waves within the electrons that make up plasma. The interaction produces a rhythmic sound that can be heard in the audio archive released by NASA. Another segment of this audio archive relates to radio waves from Saturn, recorded by the Cassini spacecraft, which recently concluded its mission by diving into the planet's atmosphere. Another set of sounds, labeled as lightning on Jupiter, was recorded by the Voyager spacecraft. These sounds relate to the movement of extensive lightning waves from near the planet's surface into the depths of its magnetic atmosphere. Finally, another segment of this audio archive pertains to the sound of a comet's movement in 2011. The movement of this comet caused a multitude of celestial bodies and particles to collide with the Stardust spacecraft, the sound of which can be heard in these audio archives. Over 11 minutes, about 5,000 pieces of rock, ice, and dust struck this spacecraft.
