Hassan Bagherinia, Expelled Professor of Hakim Sabzevari University, Summoned to Court

Hassan Bagherinia, an expelled professor from Hakim Sabzevari University, announced that he has been summoned to Branch 902 of the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office in District 9 of Mashhad to defend against the charges against him. In this summons, Bagherinia is asked to appear within the next five days to defend himself against accusations including 'propaganda against the Islamic Republic, conspiracy and collusion to commit crimes against the internal/external security of the country, insulting the Supreme Leader, insulting Islamic sanctities, inciting or provoking people to war and killing each other with the intent to disrupt the country's security (provoking individuals to violent acts in cyberspace), and spreading falsehoods through public disturbance.' Hassan Bagherinia was dismissed after the nationwide protests in 2022 and recently reacted to Ali Khamenei's statements during the 'confirmation' ceremony of the new government, questioning what the indicators of Khamenei's regime are. He emphasized whether Khamenei considers himself more repressive than his own government, and in a video addressed to Khamenei, he asked, 'Which regime has killed so many children?' Bagherinia supported the protesters during the nationwide protests following the death of Mahsa Amini in the custody of the 'Guidance Patrol' and ultimately announced his forced retirement at the beginning of the last academic year after 29 years of service. In a video message, he cited his dismissal as a result of not remaining silent against the actions of Ali Khamenei and his forces during the 'one year of the Mahsa movement.'
