Head of the Court of Audit: Ahmadinejad has seven definitive and enforceable rulings

The head of the Court of Audit of the country states that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the former president of Iran, has seven definitive and enforceable rulings in this court. Fayyaz Shuja'i, the head of the Court of Audit, the supervisory arm of the parliament, stated in an interview with the Etemad newspaper that Ahmadinejad has seven cases that have resulted in definitive rulings, five of which are related to oil. Shuja'i refrained from disclosing the details of the other two cases. Regarding Ahmadinejad's cases, Shuja'i said: "In total, seven cases have been formed. Five are oil-related and two are non-oil, all of which have led to definitive rulings... The volume of these violations is very large. Ahmadinejad will never acquire as much as 7 trillion tomans in wealth that we can seize and return to the treasury. Therefore, the possibility of executing the ruling may not exist. Some issues simply do not have the grounds for execution." He mentioned that the cases include the sale of oil by the police, the case of purchasing gasoline in exchange for selling crude oil, the case of Babak Zanjani, the case of depositing 16 billion tomans to the Iranian University, and a 15 billion tomans case involving the Red Crescent Organization, among others. Previously, Mohammad Reza Tabesh, a member of the Parliament's Program and Budget Commission, announced on July 14 that according to the Supreme Court of Audit report, Ahmadinejad's government committed a total of 26.8 trillion tomans in legal violations or delays in settlements between 2008 and 2012. Tabesh stated that of this amount, 23 trillion tomans were related to the import of gasoline and diesel oil beyond the legal permits through crude oil barter with petroleum products from 2008 to 2010. The 600 billion tomans that the police failed to settle with the National Oil Company for oil exports in 2012 is another case for which a ruling has been issued by the Court of Audit. Another case involves Babak Zanjani, for which, according to Shuja'i, the government is owed 3.2 billion dollars for crude oil, gas condensates, and fuel oil. The head of the Court of Audit also stated that the total violations, both oil and non-oil, by Ahmadinejad's two administrations amount to 48 trillion tomans, of which only 5.5 trillion tomans have been recovered. He emphasized that this figure will never be zero and that Ahmadinejad's assets are only about 2 billion tomans. Meanwhile, the government website Bahar, close to Ahmadinejad, reacted to the statements of the head of the Court of Audit, stating that the ruling in one of these cases has been overturned. Bahar wrote: "The ruling of the Court of Audit regarding Dr. Ahmadinejad's conviction concerning the provision of subsidies to the people from the resources of gas condensates, oil, and taxes has been overturned in the appeal stage, and it has been stated that the amount of 7 trillion tomans is considered a debt of the Targeted Subsidies Organization, which must be repaid from the resources of targeted subsidies and has nothing to do with Dr. Ahmadinejad." According to OPEC statistics, Ahmadinejad's two administrations had over 578 billion dollars in oil exports. On the other hand, on Sunday, August 8, Gholamhossein Mohseni Eje'i, the spokesman for the judiciary, responded to reporters' questions about the renewed judicial pursuit of Hamid Baghaei and Ahmadinejad, saying: "Rest assured, that will also be done. Anyone from this tribe or outside of it who has committed illegal acts will be prosecuted." Hamid Baghaei, who was released from prison last week on bail, severely attacked the judiciary, calling Gholamhossein Mohseni Eje'i a liar and wishing for the downfall of his opponents. Baghaei was Ahmadinejad's deputy and has financial cases against him. His qualification in the recent presidential election was rejected by the Guardian Council. Gholamhossein Mohseni Eje'i, referring to these statements, said: "It is not unlikely that individuals accused of financial corruption will try to change the course of the case with uproar. It is not unlikely that they will try to exert pressure. The judiciary will take any necessary action according to the law. They think they have a position in society and want to test the waters with some words and actions. Just as they did a while ago in the elections, they should not be given too much attention." Hamid Baghaei has threatened to expose information. In this context, 13 trillion tomans of the violations of Ahmadinejad's government have been "returned," a new working group has been formed to investigate oil revenues from 2008 to 2012, and the financial loss from Ahmadinejad's "mistakes" for Iran is estimated at 12 trillion tomans. A member of parliament stated that Ahmadinejad has a definitive conviction of 12 trillion tomans, and a Tehran representative noted that the Court of Audit has issued three rulings against Ahmadinejad, but they are not being executed.
