Hengaw Reports the Killing of an 'Eighteen-Year-Old Girl' by 'Direct Fire' from an Officer in Lorestan Province

The Hengaw Organization has reported that an 18-year-old girl from the village of 'Goyjeh' in the Kakavand region of Noorabad County, Lorestan Province, was shot dead on Thursday, July 31, by a direct bullet fired by a police officer from the 'Cheshmeh Sefid' station. According to the human rights organization Hengaw, Razieh Rahmani was shot in the head during a raid by police forces on her family's home under the pretext of drug discovery. Based on information from an 'informed source,' police forces stormed the home of a citizen named Shokr-Reza Rahmani in search of drugs, and 'due to the resistance of family members, there was a verbal altercation and dispute among them.' The source added that during this altercation, 'one of the officers shot Razieh Rahmani in the head with a pistol, and she died instantly.' In another report from the Iran Human Rights Center, Razieh Rahmani was one of the children of this family. A relative of the family stated that 'the raid by the officers was conducted without a judicial warrant.' Razieh Rahmani's funeral was held on Saturday, July 2, at the 'Golzar-e Shohada-ye Lak Harsin' cemetery in Kermanshah Province. Armed agents of the Islamic Republic, including the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, have targeted hundreds of porters and traders in deadly shootings over the past decades under the guise of 'fighting smuggling.'
