Hezbollah Lebanon Claims Responsibility for Drone Attack on Benjamin Netanyahu's Home

The Lebanese militant group Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for a drone attack on Benjamin Netanyahu's home. According to AFP, Mohammad Afif, a spokesman for Hezbollah, stated on Tuesday, November 1, that the group has taken full and exclusive responsibility for the drone attack on Netanyahu's house in Qisariya. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has accused the Iranian government of being involved in this attack. On Tuesday, Israeli media reported that the drone attack by Hezbollah caused damage to Netanyahu's home. Israel has stated that Netanyahu and his wife were not at home during the attack and that there were no casualties or injuries. According to some reports, following this drone attack, the homes of some senior Iranian officials have been added to the list of imminent retaliatory targets for Israel. Netanyahu previously described the drone attack on his home on Saturday as a 'big mistake' and stated that Israel is determined to achieve all its military objectives and change the 'security reality' in the Middle East. In a post in English and Hebrew on platform X, he said that Hezbollah's assassination attempt on him and his wife would not deter him and the Israeli government from continuing the war against enemies to ensure the future security of the country. Netanyahu addressed the Iranian government and its proxy groups in the 'Axis of Evil,' stating, 'Anyone who tries to harm Israeli citizens will pay a heavy price.' He asserted that Israel will continue to eliminate terrorists and their 'dispatchers.' The Israeli Prime Minister reiterated his country's position that Israeli citizens living in northern areas will return to their homes. He added that Israel is determined to achieve all its military objectives and change the 'security reality in our region for future generations.' In conclusion, Netanyahu stated, 'We will fight together, and with God's help, we will achieve victory together.' In this context, Yoav Galant, Israel's Defense Minister, said that the assassination attempt on Netanyahu and his family aims to harm Israel and its symbols. He emphasized that the Israeli army will continue its attacks against the country's enemies, including Hamas and Hezbollah. Netanyahu had earlier reacted to the drone attack by stating, 'Nothing will stop us,' and that Israel will be victorious in this war. He, wearing sunglasses and a black polo shirt while walking in a park, said Israel is fighting for its survival and will continue until victory is achieved. Netanyahu referred to the elimination of Yahya Sinwar, stating, 'We will continue our battle against other Iranian terrorist proxies.' The office of the Israeli Prime Minister issued a brief statement regarding the drone attack, confirming that he and his wife Sara were not at home during the attack and that no one was harmed. Israeli defense systems intercepted and destroyed two other Hezbollah drones, triggering warning sirens in Tel Aviv. Following the terrorist attack on October 15, Hezbollah has unilaterally begun its rocket and drone attacks on northern Israel. In response, Israel has conducted severe attacks against this group's positions in Lebanon and Syria, killing hundreds of members of this Iran-backed group, including leaders and senior military commanders such as Hassan Nasrallah, Fawad Shakir, Ibrahim Aqil, and Hashem Safi al-Din. Several countries, including the United States, Israel, Germany, Serbia, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, and Australia, have recognized Hezbollah as a terrorist organization. The recognition of Hezbollah as a terrorist organization means that there is no distinction made between its political and military branches, labeling both as terrorists.
