Hezbollah Lebanon Reports the Death of 7 Members

The Iranian-backed militant group Hezbollah Lebanon announced the death of 7 of its members, claiming they were 'martyred' on the way to Jerusalem, without specifying the location of their deaths. However, the Associated Press reported, citing a Hezbollah official and a Lebanese security official who wished to remain anonymous, that these 7 were killed on the morning of November 10 in Syria. Syrian state media also reported early on Friday about an Israeli airstrike in the central province of Homs in the country. Hezbollah forces have been fighting alongside Bashar al-Assad's government against his opponents for the past twelve years to strengthen the current regime's power in Syria. The Israeli army announced early Friday that it had attacked a position of a militia group in Syria in response to a drone attack from Syrian territory on a school in the Israeli port city of Eilat, located on the Red Sea coast. According to the Associated Press, Syria and the Israeli army have been exchanging fire along the Israel-Lebanon border since October 8 of this year. Since the beginning of the war between Hamas and Israel last month, 68 members of Hezbollah Lebanon have been killed. Hezbollah Lebanon and the Houthis in Yemen, who are financially and militarily supported by the Islamic Republic, have previously fired rockets towards Israel. Iran-backed militant groups have also attacked American forces stationed in Iraq and Syria, which have met with a U.S. response. Images of the Israeli army's artillery attack on Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon were also shared. Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert stated, 'The Ayatollah will pay the price for supporting Hamas.' The Mossad and security services thwarted a Hezbollah terrorist attack plan in Brazil. The Israeli Foreign Minister stated in the European Parliament that the Islamic Republic is 'behind the attacks on Israel.'
