Hezbollah Lebanon's Readiness for Indirect Talks with Israel

Na'im Qassem, the leader of Hezbollah Lebanon, implicitly spoke about the group's readiness for indirect talks with Israel on Wednesday, November 7. According to the Israeli newspaper 'Jerusalem Post', the leader of this Iran-backed militia stated in a pre-recorded television speech that there would only be a way for indirect negotiations through the Lebanese government if Israel stops its attacks on Lebanon. However, he also mentioned that only developments on the battlefield, not political movements, would end hostilities between the armed group and the Israeli army. Hezbollah Lebanon unilaterally began its rocket and drone attacks on northern Israel following the Hamas militants' attack on Israel on October 6 last year. In response, Israel has conducted severe attacks against the positions of this group in Lebanon and Syria, killing hundreds of its members, including leaders and senior military commanders such as Hassan Nasrallah, Foad Shukr, Ibrahim Aqil, and Hashem Safi al-Din. Simultaneously with heavy airstrikes on Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon, the southern suburbs of Beirut, and the Bekaa Valley, Israel has sent its ground forces to parts of southern Lebanon. Several countries, including the United States, Israel, Germany, Serbia, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, and Australia, have recognized Hezbollah as a terrorist organization. The designation of Hezbollah Lebanon as a terrorist organization means not distinguishing between its political and military branches and recognizing both branches as terrorist. Blinken: Iraq must control Iran-linked militias. Iran, Lebanon, and Gaza are at the center of negotiations between the U.S. Secretary of State and the Israeli Defense Minister.
