Hezbollah Rocket Attacks Lead to Widespread Fires in Northern Israel

Extensive areas in northern Israel caught fire on Monday due to rocket attacks by Hezbollah militants from Lebanon, prompting firefighting teams to work for hours to contain the blaze. Reuters reports that although many Israeli citizens living in communities near the Lebanon border have left their homes for months due to escalating conflicts between Israel and Hezbollah, several individuals were lightly injured on Monday as a result of fires caused by Hamas rocket attacks. Israeli media have reported that several homes in northern Israel have burned down due to these attacks, and the heat and dryness have made firefighting efforts more challenging. Israeli park officials announced on Monday that the extent of the fires covers hundreds of acres. The National Fire Service of Israel stated that firefighting operations continued into the evening in several areas, including efforts to prevent the fire from spreading to a row of houses in the Kiryat Shmona community. Additionally, the Israeli police announced that they had closed roads and advised citizens still in the area to evacuate. Since the start of the Gaza war, Israeli and Hezbollah forces have exchanged fire almost daily.
