Hossein Mohab Aheri Passes Away

Hossein Mohab Aheri, an actor and director in television, theater, and cinema, passed away at the age of 67. Officials at Laleh Hospital reported that Mr. Mohab Aheri died in the early hours of January 26 due to the worsening of lymphatic cancer that had led to his hospitalization. Mr. Mohab Aheri had been suffering from cancer for some time. Last year, he stated that due to his illness, he could not participate in visual works. At that time, he had played a short role in the program 'Yeh Goleh Ja' directed by Alireza Mahmoudzadeh. Hossein Mohab Aheri was born in 1951 in Tehran. He was a graduate of Persian literature and participated in an acting course held under the supervision of Arbi Avanesian, a director and university professor. His first film role was in 'Rabeteh,' directed by Pouran Derakhshandeh in 1986. Before entering cinema, he acted in famous television series such as 'Mahalleh Bro Biya.' 'Sarbadoran,' 'Mahalleh Behdasht,' and 'Avicenna' were other series in which Mr. Mohab Aheri played roles in the early 1980s. Hossein Mohab Aheri also directed several television series, including 'Sad Sal Be In Salha,' 'Nabigheh Gharne Bistom,' and 'Majaraye Agha Nobar.' He also worked as a voice actor for radio and appeared in films such as 'Do Film Ba Yek Belit,' 'Jibbarha Be Behesht Nemiravand,' 'Man Zamin Ra Doost Daram,' 'Rooze Fereshteh,' 'Khabam Miad,' and several other Iranian cinematic works. Mr. Mohab Aheri is considered one of the actors who played a significant role in shaping the television memories of children and teenagers in the 1980s. Qotboddin Sadeghi, a famous director and university professor, once regarded Hossein Mohab Aheri as deserving of recognition in the field of children's theater, stating: 'Although he has been suffering from a difficult illness for years, he continues to work with his spirit, heart, and feelings.'
