Hossein Rezazadeh, the Strongest Man in the World: I Did Not Intend to Break Records

Hossein Rezazadeh, the strongest weightlifter in the world, represented Iran at the Grand Prix competitions in Hungary and achieved first place. Upon returning to Iran, he spoke to the Iranian Sports News Agency (IPNA) about the quality and quantity of the competitions, stating that the quality level was very high and that the World Weightlifting Federation hosted the event, utilizing the best facilities and equipment for the athletes and competitions. He added that the best athletes from around the world, specifically the top five in each weight category, were invited, which heightened the competition's sensitivity. With faith in God and his preparation, he managed to defeat all competitors from China, Bulgaria, Poland, Hungary, and Ukraine by lifting 450 kilograms. The strongest weightlifter in the world continued, stating that he did not intend to break records, and even during his second attempt at a 250-kilogram lift, his Bulgarian coach, Trendafi Stoychev, did not allow him to lift heavier weights. He mentioned that he could have broken his previous world record but felt that the competition was not intense enough to warrant pushing himself to break records. He noted that with his 450 kilograms, he had approximately a 30-kilogram lead over the second and third place competitors in his category. The Olympic and World Champion discussed the invitation from the World Federation, stating that after being recognized as the star of the competition, he was invited to represent his country and Asia at the World Championships in Norway, where the world's super heavyweights and the best from each continent will compete. He hopes to raise his country's flag again in this competition, which will take place in about a month, and bring joy to his compatriots. He also requested all his fellow countrymen to pray for him and all athletes, as their good prayers are essential for success. Rezazadeh concluded by stating that his main goal is to win the championship at the Athens Olympics, and to achieve this, he will set a new record at the World Championships in Vancouver, which will also determine Olympic quotas, proving his superiority over all foreign competitors.
