Hossein Ronaghi: The Continuation of the Islamic Republic Brings Nothing but Death and Destruction

Hossein Ronaghi states that the people of Iran know their enemy better than ever and understand that as long as the Islamic Republic rules over this land, there is no fate awaiting the country and its people other than death and destruction. This political activist criticized certain groups on social media for using inappropriate phrases and attacking each other with false accusations in a post shared early Sunday, December 4. He emphasized, 'What is happening is the will of the Islamic Republic and the dehumanization of Iranians.' Ronaghi also noted, 'We must adhere to a set of principles and general values to save this society from the grip of the ruling darkness; otherwise, what will happen is aiding in the sinking of this society and country. I believe this virtual division does not manifest within society, as people are more engaged in survival and livelihood issues to pay attention to these matters.' He also declared that the goal of his sit-ins in various parts of the city is to reiterate the demands of Kianoush Sanjari and support his fellow countrymen imprisoned unjustly, stressing that he has not issued any call for people to join his protests and that his aim is solely to uphold the promise he made to Kianoush. In further explaining this promise, he wrote: 'In the last moments I saw Kianoush, before leaving the building, I told him that whatever decision you make, let me know, I will be by your side. Wherever you want to go and whatever you want to do, I am with you.' He continued, 'Kianoush took the opportunity of companionship from me that rainy day, as I am not one to take my own life; I will fight and will not cease my insistence until his last demands are fulfilled.' Ronaghi concluded by stating, 'Kianoush, with his horrific death, wanted to jolt all of us. Personally, I was shaken by Kianoush's death and I am no longer the same person. I hope that one day this jolt will encompass everyone.' Kianoush Sanjari, a journalist and former political prisoner, ended his life on Wednesday, November 23, in protest against the conditions of political prisoners in the Islamic Republic. He had announced a day earlier that if the Islamic Republic did not release four political prisoners within the next 24 hours, he would end his life in protest against 'the dictatorship of Ali Khamenei and his associates.'
