Hosseini Ronaghi's Account of Arrest and Sexual Assault

Hosseini Ronaghi, a political activist who staged a protest with "stitched lips" in central Tehran on Monday, reported on social media on Tuesday, November 29, about sexual harassment by government agents during his arrest. Mr. Ronaghi detailed the harassment, stating: "As a well-known 40-year-old activist, I was subjected to sexual harassment and verbal abuse by special forces of the police, and those who killed Sarina and Nika explicitly spoke of killing and raping opponents." He referred to the police officers as a "gang of thugs and rapists" and emphasized: "These are the same people who claim to be law enforcers and protectors of the country, harassing women for improper hijab and extracting confessions from the children of Ekbatan using similar methods." This political activist also stressed: "Even if I am the only one, I will stand against these behaviors and will not allow you to humiliate us any further. My issue is not just myself; it is about reclaiming Iran and restoring dignity and respect to the people living in this land."
