Hosseyn Razagh, imprisoned media activist, goes on hunger strike

Hosseyn Razagh, a political prisoner, has gone on hunger strike following his transfer to solitary confinement at the Ministry of Intelligence detention center, Ward 209 of Evin Prison. According to HRANA, the news agency of the Human Rights Activists in Iran, this transfer occurred on Saturday, October 21, and no information has been released regarding the reasons for it. News sources report that he had previously been transferred to Hall 6 of Ward 4 of Evin Prison under the direct orders of a representative of the Ministry of Intelligence in August of this year, under the supervision of security agencies. Mustafa Tajzadeh, a political prisoner in Evin Prison, had previously written about Razagh's 'multiple illnesses and specific and critical health condition,' stating that he 'should not have been imprisoned at all.' Tajzadeh holds Ebrahim Raisi, the head of the judiciary, directly responsible for Razagh's life. Additionally, the Human Rights Defenders Center recently issued a statement about Razagh's serious illnesses, including Guillain-Barré syndrome. This center criticized the 'law-breaking actions' of the head of Evin Prison, noting that the situation of political prisoners in this prison has increasingly become 'more dire.' Razagh has been arrested and imprisoned several times due to his activities, with charges including 'collusion and conspiracy against national security' and 'propaganda against the regime.'
