Houthi Ballistic Missile Launch; CENTCOM: We Destroyed Four Drones

The United States Central Command, CENTCOM, announced that "Houthi terrorists" supported by the Islamic Republic launched an anti-ship ballistic missile from areas under their control in Yemen towards the Gulf of Aden on Wednesday, March 14. According to CENTCOM, the missile did not hit any ships, and no casualties or damages were reported. CENTCOM also stated that it successfully destroyed four drones and one surface-to-air missile in areas controlled by the Houthis in Yemen. CENTCOM claims these weapons pose an imminent threat to commercial vessels and U.S. Navy ships in the region. The U.S. Central Command emphasized that its actions are aimed at protecting freedom of navigation and making international waters safer for the U.S. Navy and commercial ships. Houthi attacks in the Red Sea have disrupted global shipping, forcing companies to use longer and more expensive alternative routes. In response to these attacks, the U.S. and Britain also targeted Houthi military positions in Yemen and once again listed this militia group as a terrorist organization. Meanwhile, with the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, there are concerns that the conflict may spread to other parts of the Middle East. The legitimate Yemeni government confirmed the deaths of at least 11 people in the U.S. and British attacks on Houthi positions. The continued insecurity in the Red Sea by the Iran-backed Houthis; the coalition forces of CENTCOM destroyed several drones and missiles, and 15 Houthi drones were shot down. Two explosions occurred near a ship in the Gulf of Aden; the crew was unharmed. CENTCOM shot down four missiles and four drones belonging to the Iran-backed Houthis.
