Huawei's Foldable Phone Competes with Samsung's Foldable Device

Just a few days after the introduction of Samsung's foldable phone, Huawei also unveiled its own foldable device. This event can be seen as a turning point in the global mobile phone industry. The Mate X, Huawei's foldable phone, contrasts with years past when Apple was the leader in technology innovation; now, it is the Korean and Chinese companies that are at the forefront of mobile technology. After Samsung introduced the Galaxy Fold, a foldable phone, Huawei has now launched a product called Mate X, which can function both as a mobile phone and transform into an eight-inch tablet. In terms of hardware, Samsung's phone can be considered stronger. Both devices have similar processor capabilities, with Samsung featuring the Snapdragon 855 processor, while Huawei uses its proprietary Kirin 980 processor. However, Samsung has 12GB of RAM, whereas Huawei's device contains only 8GB of RAM. The internal storage of Huawei's foldable product is 512GB. The screen size of Huawei's phone in both mobile and tablet modes is larger than Samsung's. In mobile and tablet modes, Huawei's phone measures 6.6 and 8 inches, while Samsung's device measures 4.7 and 7.3 inches. Huawei's design appears to be more intelligent, as both sides of the device can be used as a display in phone mode, whereas only one side of Samsung's device is usable. Huawei's new foldable phone supports 5G technology, which is a future revolution in mobile internet speed worldwide. The Huawei phone is thinner in its folded state compared to Samsung's. This phone is equipped with four cameras on its back. The price of the Mate X is around 2,300 euros, which is significantly higher than the approximately 2,000 euro price of the Samsung Fold. Given the prices of these phones, it seems that it will take years for such products to become affordable for most people worldwide. It is likely that in 2020, with this new chip, Apple will also introduce its 5G iPhones. Xiaomi has introduced a new phone that can be considered a flagship killer in terms of features and price. This phone is named Mi-9 and features the Snapdragon 855 processor and a 48-megapixel camera. With this very powerful hardware, the price of Mi-9 is around $500 (about half the price of flagship phones from companies like Samsung, Apple, and Huawei). The camera of this phone has a triple setup on the back, consisting of a 48-megapixel main sensor, a 16-megapixel wide lens, and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera. However, Samsung has used ultrasonic fingerprint sensors under the displays of its new series of mobile phones. This new technology uses sound waves to create a three-dimensional model of a human fingerprint. This technology detects blood flow and thus will not be fooled by fake patterns. It also works effectively when the fingers are wet, while optical methods lose functionality under such conditions.
