Human Rights Networks: A Kolbar from Saqqez Shot 'to the Heart' from Close Range

Heiman Ahmadi, a 45-year-old Kolbar from Saqqez County, was shot 'to the heart' by armed agents of the Islamic Republic from 'a distance of one meter' on Wednesday, April 12. According to reports from several human rights networks, including Hengaw and Kolbar News, Heiman Ahmadi was married and had an 8-year-old child, and he was targeted by border patrol agents at the 'Bastam' border. Based on statistics from the human rights network 'Kolbar News' in the Iranian year 1402, 444 Kolbars in border areas and inter-road paths of the provinces of West Azerbaijan, Kurdistan, and Kermanshah were killed or injured due to factors such as direct gunfire from regime military forces, avalanches, frostbite, stepping on landmines, falling from mountains and heights, and other causes. According to Kolbar News, 373 of the injured or killed last year, or 84% of them, were targeted by 'direct gunfire' from armed agents of the Islamic Republic. Additionally, 37 of the total 444 Kolbars who were victims last year were children under 18 years old. The Hengaw Human Rights Organization reported that three Kolbars were arrested and tortured in the Baneh region, four Kolbars were injured due to 'direct gunfire' from Islamic Republic agents in Hawraman, and Shovaneh Ahmadpour, a married Kolbar, was killed by 'direct gunfire' from Islamic Republic agents. Six Kolbars in Kurdistan Province were killed or injured after falling from mountains. News sources reported that one Kolbar died from the cold and eight were injured by border forces' gunfire, and a 15-year-old Kolbar died from frostbite at the 'Mishaw' border of Saqqez.
