Human Rights Sources: Mujahid Korkori Transferred to Hospital After Beating in Prison

The news agency of the Human Rights Activists in Iran reported, citing a source close to the family of this citizen, that Mujahid Korkori was beaten by prison guards and government agents in Shiban Prison in Ahvaz on Tuesday, November 1, and was transferred to the hospital. According to HRANA, this citizen from Izeh, who has been sentenced to death, is still hospitalized, and signs of bruising and wounds on his body are clearly visible. The judiciary media of the Islamic Republic has accused Mr. Korkori of the murder of Kian Pirfalak, a child who lost his life during the nationwide protests in 2022 in Izeh, Khuzestan. The Pirfalak family, including Kian's mother, has repeatedly denied this claim, stating that their child lost his life due to gunfire from government forces. The hearing for the charges against Abbas (Mujahid) Korkori, a resident of Izeh, was held in late March 2023 at the Revolutionary Court in Ahvaz. The public prosecutor of Izeh described Mr. Korkori's charges as 'Moharebeh and Efsad fil Arz' (waging war against God and corruption on earth) and called for the harshest punishment for him. Other charges against Mujahid Korkori include disturbing public order and causing major bodily harm leading to the death of seven people, including Kian Pirfalak, causing damage to public and private property, forming opposition groups, and membership in them through armed uprising against the Islamic Republic. However, Mujahid Korkori's sister stated in August this year to Voice of America that she personally participated in the protests on the day Kian Pirfalak was killed, and her brother was not present there at all. Zeynab Molaei Rad, Kian Pirfalak's mother, also reacted to the 'accusations' by judicial officials against individuals like Abbas (Mujahid) Korkori, Bahman Bahmani, Hossein, and Mahmoud, emphasizing: 'As Kian's mother, I will never accept anyone from my fellow citizens being introduced as a murderer.' Zeynab 'Mahmanir' Molaei, Kian Pirfalak's mother, has been unofficially banned from any communication with the public, especially using social media, since June this year, and there has been no news about her situation.
