Identification of 12 Detainees in Dehdasht and Concerns for the Condition of Two of Them

Following the detention of several protesters in Dehdasht, after days of uncertainty, a human rights organization has learned that some of them are held in the Intelligence Department of the IRGC, a group in Yasuj prison, and a teenager has been transferred to the Yasuj rehabilitation center. The whereabouts of some detainees remain unknown. According to a report by the media organization of the Human Rights Activists in Iran on Monday, February 29, the location of eight of the detainees from the Dehdasht protests has been identified. Based on the report from HRANA, one of the protesters named Ahmad Nourmohammadi is facing charges of 'leading the protests' and has been transferred to the IRGC's detention center. Additionally, the intelligence and judicial authorities of the Islamic Republic have taken three brothers named Hossein, Alireza, and Hamid Parisai along with Jaber Foroughi and Pouria Barati to Dehdasht prison, while Atefeh Tahernia has been transferred to Yasuj prison. Furthermore, 17-year-old Amir Hossein Jafari has been taken to the Yasuj rehabilitation center. However, it is unclear where and under what conditions four other detainees, including 16-year-old Kamran Bozari, Shahram Nooraniyan, Shahryar Heshmatnesab, and Reza Yeganeh, are being held. According to an informed source to HRANA, Atefeh Tahernia was supposed to be released on bail from Yasuj prison, but the judicial officer's opposition prevented her temporary release. The Fars News Agency, affiliated with the IRGC, announced on Sunday that several of the detained protesters in Dehdasht, the center of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province, have been accused of 'disturbing public order and intending to create sabotage.' Meanwhile, the Human Rights Activists in Iran reported that 'IRGC intelligence agents shot at the vehicle of Shahram Nooraniyan and Shahryar Heshmat during their arrest in the Tangpirza area of Kohgiluyeh County.' A source close to the family of one of these citizens told HRANA that their arrest 'was carried out with violence and beatings,' and the families of Nooraniyan and Heshmat 'have no information about the fate of their children after their arrest and are worried about their condition.' Following the public protests in Dehdasht, IRGC intelligence forces in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province arrested several protesting citizens on the evening of Tuesday, February 23. So far, the identities of 12 of the detainees have been confirmed, but there is no information about the detention location and condition of four of them.
