Informed Source to VOA: Judiciary Threatens Parents of Aida Moradbehrouzi, Missing Teenager

Following 22 days of uncertainty regarding 13-year-old Aida Moradbehrouzi, who disappeared alongside her classmate Hasti Mohammadi, concerns have escalated. An informed source told VOA that judicial authorities have threatened her parents. On Wednesday, the second of Esfand, the source stated that despite the passage of 22 days since Aida's disappearance, responsible officials have not taken effective measures to find her and her friend, and the families' efforts have yielded no results. Aida Moradbehrouzi went missing on the 11th of Bahman while heading to school with her classmate. With over three weeks of silence, worries for the families of these two teenagers have intensified. According to the informed source, both families have pursued legal actions to locate their children but have not achieved any results. The source close to Aida Moradbehrouzi's family told VOA that the judiciary has threatened her parents, Soori Babaei Chaghini and Mohammad Reza Moradbehrouzi, both civil activists with ongoing cases in the judiciary, stating, 'With the slightest activity, you will be arrested again.' Previously, on Tuesday, the 24th of Bahman, judicial officials in Qazvin province forced Soori Babaei Chaghini, an activist against mandatory hijab, to wear a headscarf in prison against her will and obtained a commitment from her to refrain from any protests and return to a normal life before granting her a 10-day leave in exchange for bail. Additionally, a day prior, a source close to these civil activists informed VOA that the Ministry of Intelligence had initiated another case against Reza Moradbehrouzi on charges of propaganda against the Islamic Republic to coerce the family into silence.
