Introduction of Future Phones in Barcelona

The Mobile Congress in Barcelona 2018, which began on February 26 in this city, is one of the most important mobile and laptop exhibitions in the world, showcasing new products this year as well. Nokia unveiled the Nokia One, Nokia 8110, Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 7 Plus, and the new generation of Nokia 6. The upgraded version of Nokia 6 is a mid-range product. The body of this phone is entirely made of aluminum. Features of this Nokia model include a Snapdragon 630 processor, four gigabytes of RAM, 32 or 64 gigabytes of storage, and a 5.5-inch display with full HD resolution. Nokia 6 runs on Android 8.0 Oreo, and in collaboration with Google on the Android One project, it is expected that this phone will receive Android updates quickly. Nokia 6 is equipped with a 16-megapixel camera with a Zeiss lens. The Nokia 7 Plus has an 18:9 elongated display with thin bezels. This Nokia model also has an aluminum body, but with a ceramic-like coating. This product has a 6-inch display with a resolution of 2160 × 1080 pixels. The Nokia 7 Plus features a Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor supported by 4 gigabytes of RAM and 32 or 64 gigabytes of storage, expandable up to 256 gigabytes via a shared slot with the second SIM card. The Android version of this phone is similar to that of Nokia 6. The Nokia 7 Plus has a dual camera with 12 and 13-megapixel sensors and Zeiss wide and telephoto lenses, and according to Nokia, sales will begin in April. Another Nokia product unveiled at the Barcelona exhibition is the Nokia 8110, which will return to the market after 22 years. This phone is designed with the same simple design language but utilizes more modern tools and is curved. It features a 2.4-inch display with a resolution of 240 by 320 pixels, a dual-core Snapdragon 205 processor, 512 megabytes of RAM, and 4 gigabytes of storage. It also has a 2-megapixel main camera, dual SIM card capability, and a slider at the bottom of the phone that easily slides down to reveal the keyboard. Sony is another company that unveiled its new products at the Mobile Congress in Spain 2018, including the Xperia XZ2 and Xperia XZ2 Compact phones. The body of Sony's new flagship, the Xperia XZ2, is a combination of 3D glass and metal, making it weigh 198 grams, heavier than its predecessor. The compact version of this model, however, uses a combination of polycarbonate and metal instead of glass. The fingerprint sensor has been moved to the back of these two Sony phones. The XZ2 display is 5.7 inches, while the XZ2 Compact display is 5.0 inches. Other features of Sony's new flagships include a Snapdragon 845 processor, 4 gigabytes of RAM, and 64 gigabytes of storage, expandable up to 400 gigabytes via a shared slot with the second SIM card. It should also be noted that these phones do not have a 3.5mm headphone jack. Both phones are equipped with a 19-megapixel camera that allows users to record slow-motion videos. Huawei did not introduce any new phones at this year's Mobile Congress in Barcelona but came with a new model of its laptops called MateBook X Pro, weighing 1.33 kilograms. Huawei's new keyboard lights up in dark places. An interesting feature is the webcam located on the keyboard, which pops up between the F6 and F7 keys when pressed. This laptop is also equipped with a fingerprint sensor. The MateBook X Pro uses Intel's eighth-generation quad-core processors, with the highest version equipped with the i7 8550U processor. It is also possible to connect an external graphics card to the laptop via the Thunderbolt 3 port to enhance its performance, especially for graphics tasks. In the highest configuration, the MateBook X Pro can be purchased with 16 gigabytes of RAM and 512 gigabytes of SSD storage. Huawei also announced the speed of its commercialization process for the 5G wireless network at the event. The company noted that it has reached preliminary agreements with over 30 network operators in this regard. This manufacturer stated that nearly half of its revenue comes from China and mentioned that before commercializing 5G equipment, it will test them in the largest cities in the world, including Seoul, Tokyo, London, Milan, and Vancouver, Canada. Additionally, during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona 2018, MediaTek unveiled its latest processor named Helio P60. This processor is an octa-core chip equipped with an AI processing unit. With the increasing use of artificial intelligence in many devices and equipment, this processor can have many applications. MediaTek claims that it can capture new and affordable smartphones with this mid-range processor. Samsung also had a strong presence at this congress, introducing its new flagship phones, the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus, with a design similar to the previous generation but with more powerful hardware.
