Investigation into the 'Terrorist Nature' of Fatal Vehicle Collision with People Near Mosque in London

A van collided with a number of worshippers leaving a mosque in London, resulting in at least one death and 10 injuries. According to reports, the anti-terrorism command is conducting an investigation into the incident. The British Prime Minister states that this event is being treated as a 'potential terrorist attack.' Theresa May will host an emergency government meeting on Tuesday morning. Police officials say the incident occurred at 12:20 AM on June 29 (local time), and one person has been arrested in connection with it. The Sun newspaper reported that the vehicle struck a crowd near the 'Finsbury Park' mosque. The British Muslim Council has also confirmed this news. The council stated on its Twitter account, 'We have learned that a van has run over a group of worshippers leaving Finsbury Park mosque.' Harun Khan, the council's president, also tweeted that the van had 'deliberately' driven into people leaving the mosque after night prayers. BBC reported, citing a local resident, that 'a white van had stopped near the mosque and then appeared to have run over those leaving after prayers.' The Sun newspaper reported that 'two worshippers may have lost their lives.' Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London, called the incident 'terrorist' and stated, 'It is an attack on our shared values.' Jeremy Corbyn, the Labour Party leader, expressed that he was 'deeply shocked.' The anti-terrorism command is investigating the recent incident. In a series of deadly attacks in London on June 3, three radical attackers used a van to run over citizens on London Bridge and then attacked several with knives in a nearby area. A total of eight people were killed and nearly fifty injured. The group known as the Islamic State claimed responsibility for these attacks. British police say they have not yet found evidence linking the attackers to outside the country. The attacks occurred less than two weeks after another radical attacker killed 22 people, including several children and teenagers, in a suicide bombing in Manchester. On March 2, another attacker ran over several people on Westminster Bridge in central London and killed a police officer with a knife.
