Iran Becomes Champion of World Karate Championships

The Iranian national youth and hope karate team achieved the title of world champion at the third edition of the World Championships in France. According to the Iran Sports News Agency (IPNA), this competition featured karate practitioners from 74 countries around the world in the youth and hope age categories, competing individually and as teams in two sections: kata and kumite, for both men and women, held in the 6,000-seat 'Exploit' hall in Marseille, France. Notably, the Iranian karate team won 6 gold medals, 1 silver, and 3 bronze medals to secure the world championship, while the host country France came in second with 5 golds, 1 silver, and 2 bronzes, and Japan placed third with 2 golds, 1 silver, and 3 bronzes. It is worth mentioning that the golden performance of the Iranian national karate team was completed with the gold medal of Saeed Farrokhi, a karateka in the 75 kg weight category of the hope team. Furthermore, the performances of the Iranian karate practitioners in Marseille surprised and astonished other national team coaches, leading them to regard Iran as an unforgettable phenomenon in this third edition of the competition, and ultimately, the Iranian team was recognized as the strongest and most technical team of the third championship.
