Iran Book Information Network Launched

The Iran Book Information Network was inaugurated, featuring book reviews, interviews, a list of bestsellers in Iran, and new publications. Iranians inside and outside the country can purchase their desired books from this platform, with or without a credit card. Naghmeh Khalilbeigi's 'An Introduction to Playwriting' is the first encyclopedia of playwriting in Persian, authored by Dr. Farhad Nazarzadeh Kermani and published by the Samt Publishing Organization, affiliated with the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology. In an interview with Iran Bin, Nazarzadeh Kermani announced that he decided to write this book in the early 1990s, promising to create the best book in the field of playwriting using the most reliable sources, which led him to travel to European and American countries. According to Nazarzadeh, the book took about eight years of continuous work and is based on 500 English and French sources. It contains the most important and latest information about plays and their critique, along with nearly 400 terms in this field, many of which have not been introduced in Persian before, and like his other works, a Persian equivalent has been created for each term. The book discusses key and foundational terms of playwriting, genres, conventional and unconventional forms, and contemporary readings of Aristotle's poetics. The final version of the book was submitted to Samt Publishing about two years ago, and he expects it to be released in the publishing market by late autumn this year. It is noteworthy that the term 'playwriting' was not previously common in Persian, and the author created this term for the study of plays, similar to other terms that deserve scientific research, such as sociology and psychology.
